Hayley Drayton Shines a Light on Women Brewers

Our very own Hayley Drayton has been featured as one of the women breaking stereotypes in Australia’s Craft Beer scene. Hayley’s story led an article this month in Newcastle Herald’s Weekender Magazine.

In the article, Hayley tells her story of how she challenged herself to move from the stereotypical roles for females in the industry of book-keeping, administration, and social media and got hands on with the brewing of our beer.

With Andrew, we now have a unique husband and wife brewing team with Hayley introducing her own inspiring flavours & styles, increasing our range.

The article also features The Pink Boots Society, a global non-profit organisation created to empower women and non-binary people in the brewing and distilling industry, offering support in a traditionally male-dominated industry.

Other female brewers profiled in the article are Grace Fowler from Bathurst’s Reckless Brewing Co, and BentSpoke’s Tracy Margrain, who is among the most respected female brewers in the industry.

It is great to see acknowledgement and coverage within the brewing community that is moving towards inclusivity of all genders and pronouns.
